SCOTT NAMED LITTLE EAST
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, RI-Rhode Island College senior guard Denise Scott (Yonkers, NY) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. She shares the honor with Western Connecticut junior guard Karli Spera (Waterford, CT).

 

 

 

In a 1-1 week for the Anchorwomen, Scott averaged 21 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 67 percent (14-for-21) from the field. On Jan. 19, she registered 20 points, on 6-for-8 shooting, and pulled in six rebounds as the Anchorwomen were edged by Western Connecticut, 83-79. Four days later, Scott registered a season-high 22 points as Rhode Island College handed Eastern Connecticut its first conference loss, 58-46, of the season.

 

For the season, she has played in 15 games, starting nine of them. Scott is averaging 12.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.4 steals per game.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue the Little East Conference schedule at home against UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
