RIC BATTLES DIV. I COMPETITION AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY'S TERRIER INVITATIONAL

 

Boston, MAóThe Rhode Island College menís indoor track and field team competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring. The majority of teams competing at the event were Div. I and Div. II scholarship institutions.

 

 

 

Freshman Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI) placed 15th in the 500m (1:07.41) and 16th in the high jump (1.78m).

The 4x400m relay team comprised of freshman George NíTow (Providence, RI), senior Kyle Duguay (Cumberland, RI), freshman Michael Cole (Newport, RI)  and freshman Aloysius Togbah (Providence, RI) placed 15th (23 teams) with a time of 3:26.76, surpassing several Div. I squads and establishing a new RIC indoor record in the process.

 

 

 

Junior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed 92nd in the 3,000m (9:24.52).

 

 

 

Freshman Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI) placed 70th in the 800m (2:06.49), while N'Tow placed 48th in the 400m (50.80).

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Little East/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 13.
