ANCHORWOMEN FACE TOUGH COMPETITION
AT B.U.'S TERRIER INVITATIONAL

 

Boston, MA—The Rhode Island College women’s indoor track and field team competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring. The majority of teams competing at the event were Div. I and Div. II scholarship institutions.

 

 

 

Senior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed 17th in the triple jump (10.08m) and 26th in the 400m (1:01.07).

Junior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed 23rd in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.29) and established a new program record while finishing 24th in the 500m (1:23.69). Junior Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI) placed 29th in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.47) and 71st in the 500m (2:42.66).

Sophomore Molly Gouveia (Warwick, RI) placed 34th in the weight throw (10.98m) and 40th in the shot (9.11m), while senior Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) finished 35th in the weight throw (10.73m).

 

 

 

Sophomore Nicole Gelinas (Dayville, CT) placed 33rd in the preliminaries of the 55m (8.39). 

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Little East/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 13.
