WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS PLACES FIFTH AT SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT MEET

 

New Haven, CT—The Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics team placed fifth at a five-team meet hosted by Southern Connecticut on Saturday afternoon. Bridgeport (189.600) won the meet and was followed by Yale (186.925), the hosts (186.750), Ithaca (181.100) and the Anchorwomen (169.250).

 

 

 

Sophomore Alana Henderson (Alexandria, VA) led RIC on vault (9.050) with a 20th place finish. Sophomore Courtney Winsor (West Greenwich, RI) paced the Anchorwomen on bars (8.125) with a 25th place finish.

Senior Liz Glunt (Altoona, PA) led RIC on beam (8.975) with a 19th place effort. Sophomore Kate Bachelder (Portsmouth, NH) led the squad on floor (8.700) with a 23rd place finish.

 

Glunt was ninth overall in the all-around (33.975).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Wilson on Sunday, Feb. 14 at The Murray Center. Glunt and fellow senior Kelly Longo (Pembroke, MA) will be honored prior to the meet as part of Senior Day.
