IBY, GOUVEIA & DiBLASI EARN
N.E. ALLIANCE HONORS AS ANCHORWOMEN PLACE NINTH

 

Gorham, MERhode Island College senior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA), junior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) and sophomore Molly Gouveia (Warwick, RI) earned New England All-Alliance honors as the women's indoor track & field team competed at the N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon.

 

 

 

RIC placed ninth (11 teams) in the Alliance, comprised of Little East and MASCAC institutions, with a score of 21.0. The Anchorwomen placed fifth (six teams) in the Little East with a score of 39. Southern Maine won both the Alliance and league titles.

 

 

 

Iby earned N.E. Alliance honors in two events, placing fourth in the triple jump (10.49m) and fifth in the 400m (1:01.77). DiBlasi also earned two honors, placing fifth in the 55m hurdles (9.21) and sixth in the 600m (1:46.47). Gouveia placed eighth in the weight throw (11.88m).

 

 

In upcoming action, qualifying members of the team will compete at the N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 20.
