GLUNT & WINSOR HELP ANCHORWOMEN POST SEASON-BEST SCORE IN WIN OVER WILSON

 

Providence, RI—Senior Liz Glunt (Altoona, PA) placed first overall on beam, while sophomore Courtney Winsor (West Greenwich, RI) led on vault, as the Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics team posted their best team score of the year in a 170.900-168.325 win over Wilson on Valentine’s Day at The Murray Center. The Anchorwomen record their first victory (1-3) of the year, while the Phoenix (0-3) remain winless.

Glunt posted a 9.300 on beam, while also achieving season-high marks with a fourth place finish on bars (8.100), a third place effort on floor (8.975) and was second in the all-around (34.900).

 

 

Winsor led all gymnasts with a 9.025 mark on vault. Sophomore Sarah Chrane (Rochester, NH) placed second overall on floor (9.100). Classmate Jessica Greenwald (Union, NJ) placed third on bars (8.150) and fourth in the all-around (33.850).

Wilson junior captain Samantha Vance (Winchester, VA) took first on floor (9.200) and in the all-around (35.075), while placing second on vault (8.900), third on beam (8.925) and fifth on bars (8.050).

 

Freshman Rebekka Williams (Tucson, AZ) finished first on bars (8.800) and third in the all-around (34.000) for the Phoenix. Freshman Amanda Grahn (Glenmoore, PA) was second on beam (9.000), while sophomore Laura Beck (Coopersburg, PA) was second on bars (8.300).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to West Chester on Saturday, Feb. 20.
