RILEY NAMED LITTLE EAST
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, RI-Rhode Island College sophomore forward Rachel Riley (Coventry, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

 

 

 

            Riley recorded a double-double in each game to lead Rhode Island College to a 1-1 mark in Little East action this past week, averaging 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. The Coventry, R.I. product netted 16 points and pulled in 12 boards to lift the Anchorwomen past conference-leading Western Connecticut on Feb. 9. Four days later, she scored 19 points, on 9-for-17 shooting from the floor, and corralled 11 caroms at the University of Southern Maine. For the week, Riley shot 17-for-39 from the floor and averaged 2.5 steals per game.

 

For the season, she has played in 23 games, starting all of them. Riley is averaging 12.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue the Little East Conference schedule at  UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
