IBY EARNS ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS
AS ANCHORWOMEN TIE FOR 25TH AT
NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Gorham, MEóSenior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) earned All-New England honors in the triple jump, placing eighth (10.98m), as the Rhode Island College womenís indoor track and field team tied for 25th (26 teams) with a team score of 1.0 at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon. Williams won the title with a score of 156.0.

Iby also placed 22nd in the 400m (1:02.59).

 

 

 

Junior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed 11th in the semifinals of the 55m hurdles (9.07) and 16th in the 600m (1:43.43). Junior Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI) placed 24th in preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.46).

 

 

 

Sophomore Molly Gouveia (Warwick, RI) placed 21st in the eight throw (10.87m).

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27.
