4x400 RELAY EARNS ALL-NEW ENGLAND
HONORS AS ANCHORMEN TIE FOR 21st AT
NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Gorham, MEóThe 4x400m relay team, comprised of freshmen George NíTow (Providence, RI), Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI), Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) and Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI), earned All-New England honors as the Rhode Island College menís indoor track and field team tied for 21st (22 teams) with a team score of 1.0 at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Bates on Saturday afternoon. MIT won the title with a score of 132.5.

 

 

 

The relay squad placed eighth with a time of 3:30.31.

 

 

 

NíTow placed ninth in the 400m (51.70), while Carey finished 16th in the 600m (1:27.11). Stadnick placed 13th in the 800m (2:01.40).

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27.
