MACEDO LEADS RIC TO TOP 10 FINISH AT THE POP CROWELL CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

Wenham, MA-Senior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed eighth (250 competitors) with a time of 26:55 to lead the Rhode Island College menís cross country team to an eighth place (23 teams) finish at the Pop Crowell Cross Country Invitational hosted by Gordon College.

 

The Anchormen totaled a score of 216. Southern Maine won the meet with a score of 87.

Sophomore Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) placed 31st with a time of 28:10. Sophomore Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed 63rd with a time of 28:54, with freshman Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI) right on his heels in 64th place two seconds later at 28:56.

 

Sophomore Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) placed 94th with a time of 29:46. Classmate Conor Breagy (Exeter, RI) placed 106th with a time of 29:59, with freshman Ian McCord (Bristol, RI) immediately following in 107th place at 30:01.

 

Freshman Tom DeCristofaro (Smithfield, RI) rounded out the RIC contingent by placing 130th with a time of 30:37.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Westfield State Invitational, to be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 25.
