JAGOE LEADS UMASS DARTMOUTH TO
EIGHT-STROKE WIN AT RIC INVITATIONAL
Harper Finishes Second For Anchormen

Providence, RI-Junior Nick Jagoe (Westport, MA) fired a match-best 74 (+2) to lead UMass Dartmouth to an eight-stroke win at the Rhode Island College Fall Menís Golf Invitational played at Triggs Memorial Golf Course.

 

The Corsairs finished in first with a score of 312 (+24). The Anchormen, who were playing on their home course, finished at 320 (+32). Nichols was 13 strokes off the pace to finish at 325 (+37) to round out the top three.

 

Anna Maria (326), Worcester State and Johnson & Wales (332), Suffolk (353), RICís JV squad (355), Emmanuel (366) and Wentworth (371) comprised the 10-team field.

 

 

 Sophomore Kyle Harper

 

RIC sophomore Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) was one shot off of Jagoeís pace with a 75. Nichols sophomore Nicholas Deni (Enfield, CT) registered at 76, while UMD sophomore Matt Connolly (Lynnfield, MA) and NC senior Daniel Cafasso (Prospect, CT) each shot a 77, to round out the top five.

 

RIC senior Derek Jensen (Cumberland, RI) finished tied for sixth (79), sophomore Kyle Garcia (Rehoboth, MA) tied for 13th (82), senior Bryan Picinisco (Dartmouth, MA) tied for 18th (84) and freshman Corey Hayes (Newport, RI) tied for 43rd (94) for the Anchormen varsity.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Nichols College on Sunday, Oct. 10.
