SHEPARD NAMED LITTLE EAST
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.Rhode Island College sophomore back Tucker Shepard (Tiverton, RI) was named the Little East Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in RIC's, 3-0, win over Plymouth State on Oct. 9.

He helped RIC post its fifth straight shutout over Little East rival Plymouth State on Saturday afternoon. Shepard and his teammates held the Panthers to just 10 low-quality shots. He also contributed to the offensive rush with a helper coming off a long throw-in. The Anchormen have limited their opponents to one goal or fewer in the past eight matches.

For the season, Shepard has played in nine games, starting seven of them. He tied for second on the team with three assists.

The Anchormen are currently 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the Little East Conference, trailing first place Keene State by just one point. In upcoming action, Head Coach John Mello's team will host Salem State on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
