HARPER TAKES THIRD AS MENíS GOLF FINISHES SECOND AT MITCHELL QUAD

Groton, CT-Sophomore Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) shot a team-low 80 to finish third overall as the Rhode Island College menís golf team came in second at the Mitchell College Quad Match played at Shennecossett Golf Course.

 

The Anchormen totaled a score of 333, finishing 12 strokes behind first place Anna Maria (321). RIC was +49 as a team on the day. Nichols came in third (335), while the hosts (381) rounded out the four-team field.

Harper was +9 for the afternoon to lead the RIC contingent. Senior Bryan Picinisco (Dartmouth, MA) placed seventh with an 83 (+12). Sophomores Justin Coffey (Hopedale, MA) and Joseph Quinn (Dedham, MA) finished ninth with an 84 each. Senior Steve Zahn (Coventry, RI) registered an 88.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships played at Captains Country Club in Brewster, Mass. on Oct. 18-19.
