HEIDEL NAMED LITTLE EAST OFFENSIVE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College senior middle blocker Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in three matches last week.

 

 

 

Heidel hit at a .443 clip to lead Rhode Island College to a 2-1 mark this past week. She also posted 35 kills, 16 digs, 10 blocks and three services aces.  She reached double digits in kills in each match, including 14 winners against Wesleyan on Oct. 19.

 

For the season, she has appeared in 97 sets in 28 matches. Heidel is hitting .142 (195-121-522) with 195 kills, a team-high 40 service aces, 153 digs and 70 blocks. She ranks second on the team in kills, digs and blocks.

 

Head Coach Luis Carvalho’s team is 13-15 overall and 2-3 in the Little East Conference.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East Conference competition at Western Connecticut this evening at 6 p.m.
