CHOINIERE NAMED LITTLE EAST OFFENSIVE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College junior forward Ashley Choiniere (Hope, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in two games last week.

 

 

 

Choiniere helped Rhode Island College post a 2-0 record by scoring three goals and dishing out two assists for eight points. She established a new Anchorwoman single season record for points (38) and assists (12) with her performances on the pitch this past week. She had a foot in each of Rhode Island College’s markers against conference foe Southern Maine on Oct. 23, registering a goal and assisting on the game-winner. Choiniere matched her season-high point total with a pair of goals and a helper in the double overtime, 3-2, victory over Westfield State on Oct. 19.

 

For the season, she has played in 15 games, starting all of them. She has 13 goals and 12 assists for 38 points.

 

Head Coach Mike Koperda’s team is 9-6 overall and 2-4 in the Little East Conference.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Lasell this afternoon for a 4 p.m. game.
