MACEDO LEADS RIC RUNNERS AT NEW ENGLAND ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Paxton, MA-Senior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) earned N.E. All-Alliance honors by placing 17th (155 competitors) with a time of 27:38.20 in Saturday’s five-mile run at the New England Alliance and Little East Cross Country Championships held at Moore State Park and hosted by Worcester State University.

The Anchormen placed seventh overall (13 teams) with a score of 201 points.  Keene State won the 2010 New England Alliance Championship with a team score of 36. RIC placed fourth (six teams) among Little East institutions with a score of 116.

 

Sophomore Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) placed 21st with a time of 27:48.20. Freshman Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI) came in 66th with a time of 29:44.50. Sophomore Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) finished 72nd with a time of 30:01.70.

 

Sophomore Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI) placed 94th with a time of 30:52.90.  Classmate Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) placed 98th with a time of 30:58.90.

 

Freshman Tom DeCristofaro (Smithfield, RI) finished 101st with a time of 31:00.60. Sophomore Conor Breagy (Exeter, RI) placed 122nd and rounded out the RIC contingent with a time of 32:04.70 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at ECAC Div. III Championships, to be held at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI next Saturday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.
