2010 Rhode Island College Menís Cross Country
Season Summary

Providence, RIóHead Coach Kevin Jacksonís team closed out the season at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. The Anchormen placed 27th (49 teams) with a score of 909.

 

RIC placed 17th (44 teams) at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships with a score of 435 on Nov. 6.

 

The Anchormen placed seventh (13 teams) overall and fourth (six teams) in the Little East at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 30 with team scores of 201 and 116, respectively.

 

 

 

Senior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) was named the team MVP. He finished 124th with a time of 28:17.8 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. He placed 23rd with a time of 26:57.23 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. Macedo placed 17th with a time of 27:38.20 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30.  He finished first with a season-best time of 22:16 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. Macedo placed 12th with a time of 26:34.43 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed eighth with a time of 26:55 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. Macedo placed 30th with a time of 27:18 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. He placed 51st with a season-best time of 26:05 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18. He was named the Little East Runner of the Week once on the season.

 

As a junior in 2009, Macedo was named the team MVP. He placed 122nd with a time of 27:38.00 at the NCAA N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 14. He placed 104th with a time of 29:19.00 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 7. Macedo placed 31st with a time of 28:20.00 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 31. He was RICís top runner, placing second with a season-best time of 26:35.00, at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 17. Macedo was RICís top runner, placing 20th with a time of 27:13.59, at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 10. He placed 11th with a time of 27:47.00 at the POP Crowell Invitational on Oct. 3. Macedo was RICís top runner, placing 50th with a time of 27:08.50, at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 26. He was RICís top runner, placing 76th with a time of 26:38.00, at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 19.

 

As a sophomore in 2008, Macedo placed 24th with a time of 30:03.64 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. He was RICís top runner, placing 14th with a time of 29:07.61 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. Macedo was RICís top runner, placing third with a time of 29:17.48 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. He was RICís top runner, placing 109th with a season-best time of 27:23 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

As a freshman in 2007, Macedo placed 166th with a time of 27:54 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 10. He placed 82nd with a time of 28:31 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 3. Macedo placed 34th with a season-best time of 27:07 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. He placed 11th with a time of 30:29 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 13. Macedo was RICís top runner, placing seventh with a time of 29:19, at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 6. He placed 22nd with a time of 29:22 at the Tri-State Invitational on Sept. 29. Macedo placed 10th with a time of 31:54 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 22. He placed 136th with a time of 28:56 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15.

 

He is a psychology major with a minor in gerontology and a 2007 graduate of Ponaganset High School.

 

Sophomore Conor Breagy (Exeter, RI) placed 122nd with a time of 32:04.70 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. Breagy placed 11th with a time of 24:37 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. He placed 165th with a time of 30:31.21 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 106th with a season-best time of 29:59 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. He placed 208th with a time of 30:04 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.

 

Sophomore Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI) placed 246th with a time of 31:02.5 at the NCAA N.E Regional Championships on Nov. 13. Carey placed 225th with a season-best time of 30:46.55 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6.  He placed 94th with a time of 30:52.90 at the Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. He placed 18th with a time of 25:21 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct 16.

 

Sophomore Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) placed 139th with a time of 28:33.3 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. He placed 55th with a time of 27:40.98 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. McCloskey placed 21st with a time of 27:48.20 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. He earned a second place finish with a time of 22:30 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. McCloskey placed 30th with a time of 27:30.46 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 31st with a time of 28:10 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. McCloskey placed 101st with a time of 29:15 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. He placed 112th with a season-best time of 27:24 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.

 

Sophomore Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) placed 252nd with a time of 31:15.8 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. Pena placed 146th with a season-best time of 29:02.85 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. He placed 98th with a time of 30:58.90 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. Pena placed 10th with a time of 24:33 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. He placed 132nd with a time of 29:49.15 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 94th with a time of 29:46 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2.  He placed 236th with a time of 33:46 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept 25.

 

Sophomore Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) finished 200th with a time of 29:48.9 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. Stadnick finished 103rd with a season-best time of 28:23.18 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. He 72nd with a time of 30:01.70 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. Stadnick placed fifth with a time of 23:21 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. He placed 72nd with a time of 28:38.50 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 63rd with a time of 28:54 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. He placed 182nd with a time of 31:42 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. He placed 184th with a time of 29:22 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.

 

Freshman Tom DeCristofaro (Smithfield, RI) finished 261st with a time of 31:29.8 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. DeCristofaro finished 192nd with a season-best time of 30:04.11 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. He finished 101st with a time of 31:00.60 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. DeCristofaro placed 19th with a time of 25:27 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. He placed 180th with a time of 30:55.22 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 130th with a time of 30:37 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2.  He placed 203rd with a time of 32:17 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. He placed 214th with a time of 30:32 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.

 

Freshman Ian McCord (Bristol, RI) placed 234th with a time of 33:19.12 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 107th with a time of 30:01 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. He placed 229th with a time of 33:22 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. He placed 231st with a season-best time of 31:39 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.

 

Freshman Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI) came in 212th with a time of 30:10.3 at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 13. Richer placed 117th with a time of 28:39.65 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. He placed 66th with a time of 29:44.50 at the N.E. Alliance Championship on Oct. 30. Richer came in seventh with a time of 23:39 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. He placed 55th with a time of 28:13.37 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. He placed 64th at a time of 28:56 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. He placed 122nd with a time of 29:44 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. He placed 135th with a season-best time of 27:51 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.
