RIC FINISHES FOURTH AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-Seniors Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) and Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) turned in a pair of first place performances, while freshman Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) broke her own record in the pole vault, as the Rhode Island College women's outdoor track & field team placed fourth (19 teams) with a score of 71.0 at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The hosts won the meet with a score of 86.0.

 

DiBlasi won the 100m hurdles (16.90) and the 400m hurdles (1:07.36). Desrosiers was solid in the distance events, winning both the 1,500m (5:01.14) and the 5,000m (18:45.97).

Graham took home first with a program record in the pole vault (2.90m). She also placed sixth in the 100m hurdles (17.92) and 10th in the 400m hurdles (1:17.21).

 

Sophomore Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) placed third in both the long (4.56m) and triple (10.31m) jumps. She also finished 10th in the high jump (1.30m) and 12th in the 400m (1:08.56).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Little East/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday, April 30.
