RIC SHUT OUT FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON
Anchormen To Host in Upcoming LEC Tournament

Danbury, Conn.-The Rhode Island College menís tennis team was shut out for the first time this season in a 9-0 defeat at Western Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon. The Anchormen finish the regular season with a 9-5 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the Little East Conference. The Colonials improve to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the league.

RIC will have to wait as the remaining Little East institutions play out the rest of the regular season to find out who its opponent will be in the first round of the 2011 Little East Conference Menís Tennis Tournament. The Anchormen will host a first round match on Tuesday, May 3.

Rhode Island College lost five of the six singles matches in straight sets, with only sophomore Nate Lee (Bar Harbor, ME) forcing a third frame (6-0, 5-7, 6-10). RIC did not have freshman No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles Alex Werchadlo (Woonsocket, RI) at the match, which shuffled the lineup.
