AIELLO & KELAGHAN TABBED ALL-LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE IN MENíS TENNIS

Providence, RI-Rhode Island College senior Mike Aiello (Scituate, RI) and freshman Kyle Kelaghan (East Greenwich, RI) were named First Team All-Little East Conference at No. 2 doubles. Kelaghan picked up an individual accolade as well, earning Second Team All-Little East honors at No. 4 singles.

Aiello posted a 9-6 (.600) singles record, competing primarily at the No. 3 spot. He was 13-3 (.813) in doubles action, which included an 11-3 (.786) mark when paired with Kelaghan.

 

Kelaghan was 10-3 (.769) in singles action, which included an 8-2 (.800) record at No. 4 singles. He was 11-3 (.786) in doubles.

Head Coach Lorne Teeterís team ended their season in a 5-2 loss to Western Connecticut in the semifinals of the 2011 Little East Conference Menís Tennis Championship. RICís 10 wins (10-6) were the most for the program since 1993. Teeter has steadily improved the program over the past two seasons. The year prior to his arrival, RIC was 2-13. He guided the Anchormen to a 6-9 record last spring and improved on the win total by four this season.
