 AMADO & HARRELL BREAK SCHOOL
RECORDS AT HARVARD INVITATIONAL

Cambridge, Mass.-The Rhode Island College menís indoor track and field team competed at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  It was an individual meet with no team scoring. The field was made up of Div. I, II and III institutions, as well as, junior colleges and private track clubs.

 

Freshman Craig Amado (Providence, RI) broke the triple jump record (14.28m) with a first place finish, which provisionally qualified him for the 2011 NCAA Men's Indoor Championships. He also placed 13th in the 400m (51.11).

 Sophomore Mike Harrell

 

Sophomore Mike Harrell (Reston, VA) set a new mark (8.57) in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles with a seventh place finish.

 

Sophomore George N'Tow (Providence, RI) placed seventh in the 500m (1:07.18). Classmate Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI) placed ninth in the 500m (1:08.14).

 

RIC is off for finals and the Christmas holidays. The Anchormen will resume competition at the Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 8.
