Women’s Gymnastics Opens Season at Ithaca Quad

Ithaca, NY—The Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics team placed fourth at a quad meet hosted by Ithaca College on Saturday afternoon. The hosts (184.750) won the meet and were followed by Brockport (184.150), Yale (179.500) and the Anchorwomen (155.575).

 

 

 Freshman Leah Jackson

 

Freshman Leah Jackson (Londonderry, NH) placed eighth in the all-around (31.650). She placed 15th on vault (9.100), 22nd on bars (6.400), 23rd on beam (7.400) and 17th on floor (8.750).

 

Freshman Courtney Mailloux (Nashua, NH) placed ninth in the all-around (30.600). She placed 22nd on vault (8.050), 21st on bars (6.600), 23rd on beam (7.550) and 20th on the floor (8.400).

 

Junior Sarah Chrane (Rochester, NH) was the top RIC finisher on the beam, placing 16th (8.600). Chrane also finished 20th on bars (7.200) and 19th on floor (8.650).

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will host Wilson, Bridgeport and Ithaca in their first home meet of the season on Saturday, January 22 at The Murray Center.
