Anchormen Go 1-1 as Competition
Winds Down at Budd Whitehill Duals

Williamsport, PA—Rhode Island College went 1-1 in the consolation bracket, finishing 2-3 overall, at the Budd Whitehill Duals, hosted by Lycoming on Jan. 14-15. RIC (3-4) lost to Thiel, 22-20, but rebounded to crush King’s College (PA), 37-7, to end its tournament action.

 

 

 Junior 165 lbs. Brendan Guarino

 

The Anchormen were up on Thiel, 20-7, after junior Brendan Guarino’s (Lodi, NJ) pin at 165 lbs., but dropped the final four bouts to lose by two points.

RIC dominated King’s College (PA), 37-7, taking all but two bouts. Juniors Brandon Gauthier (Lowell, MA) and Mike Trasso (Lyndhurst, NJ), along with senior Kevin Sutherland (Dauphin, PA), all won to each go undefeated at the duals.
