DiBLASI BREAKS THREE RECORDS
AT TERRIER INVITATIONAL

Boston, MA—Senior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) broke her own records in the 500m (1:21.66) and the 60m hurdles (10.14), then teamed up with senior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) and freshmen Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) and Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI), to establish a new mark in the 4x400m relay (4:09.52), as the Rhode Island College women’s indoor track and field team took part in the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Friday night.

 

It was an individual meet with no team scoring. The Anchorwomen were one of a handful of Div. III teams who competed at the invitational, which was dominated by Div. I and II programs.

DiBlasi placed 28th in the 500m, 23rd in the 60m hurdles and 15th as part of the relay.

 

Graham also placed 42nd in the 800m (2:29.14) and 11th in the pole vault (2.90m). Iby finished 30th in the 400m (1:01.30) and 16th in the triple jump (10.48m).

 

Sophomore Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) placed 21st in the long jump (4.73m) and 10th in the triple jump (10.73m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2011 New England Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 12.
