500M & 4x400M RECORDS FALL AT
NEICAAA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET

Boston, Mass.The Rhode Island College women's indoor track and field team competed at the NEICAAA Championship Meet, hosted by Boston University and broke two program records.

 

The Anchorwomen did not score as a team. UConn won the meet with a score of 186.0. RIC was one of a handful of Div. III institutions seeing action at the meet, which was dominated by Div. I and II programs.

 

Senior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) established a new program record in the 500m, placing 18th (1:18.34).

Sophomore Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) placed 17th in the triple jump (10.86m).

 

The 4x400m relay team comprised of DiBlasi, Mangum, along with freshmen Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) and Katie Palumbo (Greenville, RI), broke the program record in that event with a 19th-place effort (4:07.12).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will see action at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, hosted by NYU on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 4-5.
