AMADO & 4x800m RELAY BREAK RECORDS AT NEICAAA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET

Boston, Mass.—The Rhode Island College men's indoor track and field team established three records at the NEICAAA Championship Meet, hosted by Boston University.

 

As a team, the Anchormen placed 27th (44 teams) with a total of seven points. UConn won the meet with 119.50 points. RIC was one of a handful of Div. III institutions seeing action at the meet, which was dominated by Div. I and II programs.

 

 

 Freshman Craig Amado

 

Freshman Craig Amado (Providence, RI) broke his own record in the 400m, placing sixth (48.76), and equaled his own mark in the triple jump with a fifth place effort (14.32m).

 

            The 4x800m relay team comprised of sophomores Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI), Austin Pena (Warwick, RI), Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI) and Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) broke the program record with a 14th place finish (7:55.99).

 

            Senior Kyle Duguay (Cumberland, RI) placed 19th in the 200m (22.94). 

 

            Amado, Duguay, sophomore George N’Tow (Providence, RI) and freshman Brandon Aikens (Cumberland, RI) placed 12th in the 4x400m relay (3:20.99). 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will see action at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, hosted by NYU on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 4-5.
