Womenís Indoor Track & Field Season Summary

 

Providence, RIóHead Coach Kevin Jacksonís team wrapped up the 2010-11 womenís indoor track and field season by finishing tied for 40th place (47 teams) with 2.0 points at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships hosted by New York University on March 4-5.

 

 The Anchorwomen did not score as a team at the 2011 New England Div. III Championships, hosted by MIT on Feb. 18-19.

 

 

 

The Anchorwomen placed seventh in the Alliance (10 teams) with 47.0 points and fourth (six teams) in the Little East Conference with 70.0 points at the 2011 N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Feb. 12.

 

 

Senior Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) broke her own program record in the 3,000m (10:35.51), placing 14th at the ECAC Championships on March 5. She placed 20th in the 3,000m (10:54.29) at the New England Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. Desrosiers earned N.E. Alliance honors by finishing second in the 3,000m (10:42.93) and third as part of the 4x800m relay (10:29.24), a new program record, at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She also finished 12th in the 800m (2:36.81).  She placed 54th in the 3,000m (10:59.66) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. Desrosiers finished ninth with a season-best performance in the 800m (2:31.34) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22.  She won the 3,000m (11:10.77) and finished second in the 800m (2:36.80) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. She won the mile  (5:37.38) and placed fifth in the 1,000m (3:21.01), both season-best performances, at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. She placed eighth in the 3,000m (10:50.75) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Desrosiers won the 3,000m (11:08.40) and placed third in the 1,000m (3:24.08) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.  Desrosiers was named Little East Conference Track Athlete of the Week once.

 

As a junior in 2009-10, she placed fifth as part of the 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 4:28.47, ninth in the 800m (2:39.04) and 10th in the mile with a season-best time of 5:37.25 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 13. She placed 82nd in the mile (5:46.58) at the Boston University Invitational on Jan. 29. Desrosiers placed 21st in the 800m (2:37.39) and sixth in the mile (5:37.75) at the Wheaton Invitational on Jan. 23. She placed second in the 1,000m (3:29.54), third as part of the 4x400m relay (4:47.49), third as part of the 4x800m relay with a season-best time of 11:57.54 and fifth in the mile (6:05.71) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 16. Desrosiers finished 27th in the 3,000m with a season-best time of 11:34.50 at the Yale Classic on Jan. 9. At the Harvard Open on Dec. 12, she finished eighth as part of the 4x440yd relay with a program record time of 4:24.01 and 25th in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:36.58. She finished second in the 1,000m with a season-best time of 3:20.07 at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 5.

 

As a sophomore in 2008-09, Desrosiers placed 11th in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:40.53 and 12th in the 3,000m with a time of 12:17.93 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 14. She placed fifth in the 3,000m with a season-best time of 12:00.69 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Feb. 7. Desrosiers placed 15th in the mile with a season-best time of 5:55.97 at the URI Invitational on Jan. 31. She placed ninth in the 3,000m with a time of 12:17.85 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 24. Desrosiers placed third in the 1,000m with a season-best time of 3:36.47 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 17. She placed 22nd in the mile with a time of 6:09.10 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. Desrosiers placed third in the 1,000m with a time of 3:41.79 at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 6.

 

As a freshman in 2007-08, Desrosiers placed 12th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:39.58 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 16. She placed 112th in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:33.60 at the B.U. Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9.  Desrosiers placed 16th in the 800m with a time of 2:36.98 at the URI Mega Meet on Feb. 2.  She placed 14th in the 800m with a time of 2:39.81 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 26.  Desrosiers placed second in the 3,000m with a time of 12:02.30 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 19. She placed 27th in the mile with a time of 6:09.61 at the Yale Invitational on Jan. 12. Desrosiers placed 10th in the 3,000m with a season-best time of 11:51.24 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 8.  She placed 33rd in the mile with a season-best time of 6:11.48 at the Husky Winter Carnival on Dec. 1.

 

She is an elementary education major with a minor in math and a 2007 graduate of Veterans High School.

 

             Senior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) was named the teamís MVP. DiBlasi earned All-ECAC honors in the 500m, placing eighth (1:19:00), while helping the 4x400m relay establish a new program record (4:06.27), at the ECAC Championships on March 5. She established a new program record in the 500m, placing 18th (1:18.34) at the NEICAAA Championships on Feb. 26. DiBlasi established a new program record in the 600m, placing ninth (1:40.55) and finished 28th in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (10.04) at the New England Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. She finished ninth in the 200m (27.91) and 10th in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.27) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12.  DiBlasi placed 23rd in the 60m hurdles preliminaries (10.14) and 28th in the 500m (1:21.66) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. She finished fourth in the 55m hurdles (9.18) and second in the 400m (1:03.01), both season-best performances, at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. DiBlasi won both the 200m (28.39) and the 600m (1:45.75), while finishing third in the 55m hurdles (9.46), at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. She won the 600m (1:45.10), while placing fourth in the 55m (9.35) and sixth in the 200m (28.82) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. She placed 20th with a new program record in the 60m hurdles (10.01) and 57th in the 200m (28.32), both season-best performances, at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. DiBlasi placed third in the 600m (1:45.23) and fourth in the 55m hurdles (9.29) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

As a junior in 2009-10, DiBlasi was named the teamís MVP. DiBlasi placed 11th in the semifinals of the 55m hurdles with a season-best time of 9.07 and 16th in the 600m with a season-best time of 1:43.43 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 20. DiBlasi earned N.E. Alliance honors in two events by placing fifth in the 55m hurdles (9.21) and sixth in the 600m (1:46.47) at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 13. She also placed fifth as part of the 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 4:28.47 and 19th in the 200m (28.50). DiBlasi placed 24th in the 500m with a program record time of 1:23.69 and also finished 23rd in the 55m hurdles (9.29) at the Boston University Invitational on Jan. 29. DiBlasi placed seventh in the 55m hurdles (9.30) and 10th in the 200m with a season-best time of 28.75 at the Wheaton Invitational on Jan. 23. She placed first in the 55m hurdles (9.35), first as part of the 4x200m relay (1:55.80), second in the 200m (29.07), third in the 600m (1:51.93) and third as part of the 4x400m relay (4:47.49) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 16. DiBlasi finished 13th in the 60m hurdles with a program record time of 10.17 and 34th in the 400m (1:04.96) at the Yale Classic on Jan. 9. At the Harvard Open on Dec. 12, she finished eighth as part of the 4x440yd relay with a program record of 4:24.01, 21st in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles (10.28) and 22nd in the 400m with a season-best time of 1:04.89. DiBlasi finished second as part of the 4x200m relay with a season-best time of 1:55.10, second as part of the 4x400m relay (4:31.28), sixth in the 55m hurdles (9.75) and seventh in the 200m (29.47) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 5.

 

As a sophomore in 2008-09, DiBlasi placed 20th in the 55m hurdles with a season-best time of 9.27 in the ECAC Championships on March 6. She placed 27th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.35 in the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 28.  Diblasi placed 14th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.36 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 20-21. She earned N.E. Alliance honors, placing third in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.29, fifth in the 400m with a season-best time (1:03.70), third as part of the 4x200m relay with a season-best time (1:53.15) and third as part of the 4x400m relay with a season-best time (4:25.69), as well as placing 14th in the 200m with a time of 29.16 at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 14. Diblasi placed third in the 55m hurdles (9.49) and seventh in the 400m (1:03.91) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Feb. 7. She placed fifth in the 55m hurdles (9.52) and 13th in the 200m with a season-best time (28.80) at the URI Invitational on Jan. 31. Diblasi placed second in the 55m hurdles (9.35) and 11th in the 200m (28.92) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 24. She placed fourth in the 400m (1:05.88) and first in the 55m hurdles (9.56) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 17.  Diblasi placed second in the 55m hurdles (9.45) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 6.

 

As a freshman in 2007-08, DiBlasi placed 13th  in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.41 at the N.E. Championships on Mar. 1. She earned N.E. Alliance honors in three events at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 16. She placed fifth in the 55m hurdles with a season-best time of 9.36. DiBlasi also placed third as part of the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:52.21 and second as part of the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:17.65. DiBlasi placed 64th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.60 at the B.U. Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9. She placed 12th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.66 and 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 9.46m at the URI Mega Meet on Feb. 2. DiBlasi placed 22nd in the 55m with a time of 8.31 and eighth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.54 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 26. She placed fourth in the triple jump (9.3m), eighth in the 200 meters (30.17) and placed second in the 55m hurdles (9.64) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 19. DiBlasi placed 17th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.23 at the Yale Invitational on Jan. 12. She placed 17th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.29 and 18th in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 9.67m at the Harvard Invitational on Dec.  8. DiBlasi placed 86th in the 200m with a time of 29.64 and 32nd in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.77 at the Husky Winter Carnival on Dec. 1.

 

She is a nursing major and a 2007 graduate of Smithfield High School.

 

Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) returned for one semester of indoor competition. She placed 16th in the triple jump (10.48m) and 30th with a season-best performance in the 400m (1:01.30) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. She won the triple jump (10.80m) and placed 14th with a season-best performance in the 200m (28.49) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. Iby won the 55m (8.07) and took second in three events at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15: the 200m (28.64), 400m (1:04.84) and the triple jump (10.28m). Her time of 8.06 in the preliminaries of the 55m was a season-best. She won the triple jump (10.24m), finished third in the 55m (8.2) and placed seventh in the 200m (29.19) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan 8. She placed 14th with a season-best performance in the triple jump (10.52m) and 43rd in the 400m (1:04.17) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Iby placed second in the triple jump (10.27m) and eighth in both the 55m (8.30) and 400m (1:04.97) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

As a senior in 2009-10, Iby placed 15th in the triple jump (10.76) at the ECAC Championships on March 6. She placed 22nd in the triple jump (10.21m) at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 27. Iby earned All-New England honors in the triple jump by placing eighth with a season-high leap of 10.98m at the N. E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 20. She also placed 22nd in the 400m (1:02.59). Iby earned N.E. Alliance honors in two events by placing fourth in the triple jump (10.49m) and fifth in the 400m (1:01.77) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 13. She also placed 5th as a part of the 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 4:28.47, 14th in the preliminaries of the 55m (7.93) and 18th in the 200m (28.37). Iby placed 26th in the 400m with a season-best time of 1:01.07, and finished 17th in the triple jump (10.08m) at the Boston University Invitational on Jan. 29. Iby placed seventh in the triple jump (10.37m), 19th in the preliminaries of the 55m (7.99) and tenth in the 400m (1:02.93) at the Wheaton Invitational on Jan. 23. She placed first in the 55m with a season-best time of 7.91, first in the 200m (28.97), first as part of the 4x200m relay with a season-best time of 1:55.00, first in the triple jump (10.62m), second in the 400m (1:03.78) and third as part of the 4x400m relay (4:47.49) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 16. Iby placed sixth in the triple jump (10.10m) and 27th in the 400m (1:02.98) at the Yale Classic on Jan. 9. At the Harvard Open on Dec. 12, Iby finished eighth as part of the 4x440yd relay with a program record time of 4:24.01, ninth in the triple jump (10.52m), 29th in the preliminaries of the 60m with a season-best time of 8.61 and 32nd in the 200m with a season-best time of 28.28. She placed second as part of the 4x200m relay (1:55.10), second as a part of the 4x400m relay (4:31.28), third in the triple jump (10.24m), third in the 400m (1:03.57) and eighth in the 55m (8.20) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 5.

 

 

As a junior in 2008-09, Iby placed 24th in the 400m (1:04.31), ninth in the triple jump (10.64m) and 11th in the 4x400m relay at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 20-21. She earned N.E. Alliance honors, placing fourth in the triple jump with a season-best jump (10.65m) and the 400m with a season-best time (1:03.19), third as part of the 4x200m relay with a season-best time (1:53.15) and third as part of the 4x400m relay with a season-best time (4:25.69) as well as placing 12th in the 55m with a season-best time (7.94) at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 14. Iby placed sixth in the 600m with a season-best time of 1:54.50 and third in the triple jump (10.22m) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Feb. 7.  She placed fifth in the 400m with a time of 1:04.43 and seventh in the triple jump (10.25m) at the URI Invitational on Jan. 31. Iby placed sixth in the 600m with a time of 1:55.69 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 24.  She placed first in the 55m with a time of 8.12, fifth in the 400m with a time of 1:06.12 and second in the triple jump (9.81m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 17. Iby placed 16th in the triple jump (9.70m) at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13.  She placed fourth in the 400m with a time of 1:05.67 and sixth in the triple jump (9.91m) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 6.

 

 

As a sophomore in 2007-08, Iby earned N.E. Alliance honors in three events at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 16. She placed eighth in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 9.68 meters. Iby also placed third as part of the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:52.21 and second as part of the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:17.65. She placed 75th in the 55 meters with a season-best time of 8.06 and 153rd in the 200 meters with a time of 29.20 at the B.U. Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9. Iby placed 17th in the 55 meters (8.12), 26th in the 200 meters with a season-best effort (29.12) and placed 16th in the triple jump (8.98 meters) at the URI Mega Meet on Feb. 2. She placed 14th in the 200 meters with a time of 29.31 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 26. Iby placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 9.84 meters and third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.83 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 19. She placed 24th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.24 at the Yale Invitational on Jan. 12. Iby placed 47th in the 60 meters (8.86), 48th in the 200 meters (29.49), and 19th in the triple jump (9.49 meters) at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 8. She placed 36th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.73 and 23rd in the triple jump with a leap of 9.22 meters at the Husky Winter Carnival on Dec. 1.

 

 

She competed in womenís gymnastics as a freshman in 2006-07.

 

 

 

Iby is a psychology major and a 2006 graduate of Dracut High School.

 

Senior Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors as part of the 4x800m relay (10:29.24), which placed third with a new program record, and finished 11th with a season-best performance in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.37) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. Nunes placed 15th in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (10.54) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. She finished second with a season-best performance in the 55m hurdles (9.37) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. Nunes placed ninth in the preliminaries for the 55m hurdles (9.68) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8.  She placed 23rd with a season-best performance in the 60m hurdles (10.12) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Nunes placed seventh in the 55m hurdles (9.47) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

As a junior in 2009-10, Nunes placed 24th in preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.46) at the N. E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 20. Nunes placed fifth as part of the 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 4:28.47, 11th in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.52) and 17th in the 800m (2:52.25) at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 13. She placed 71st in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:42.66 and also finished 29th in the 55m hurdles (9.47) at the Boston University Invitational on Jan. 29. Nunes placed 16th in the 55m hurdles (9.56) and 27th in the 800m (2:43.60) at the Wheaton Invitational on Jan. 23. She placed first as part of the 4x200m relay with a season-best time of 1:55.80, third as part of the 4x800m relay with a season-best time of 11:57.54, fourth in the 55m hurdles (9.45) and fifth in the 800m (2:52.84) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 16. Nunes finished 14th in the 60m hurdles (10.35) at the Yale Classic on Jan. 9. At the Harvard Open on Dec. 12, she finished 24th in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles with a season-best time of 10:32. Nunes finished second as part of the 4x400m relay (4:31.28), seventh in the 800m (2:49.23) and eighth in the 55m hurdles (9.99) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 5.

 

As a sophomore in 2008-09, Nunes placed 11th in the 55m hurdles with a season-best time (9.31) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on February 20-21. She earned N.E. Alliance honors, placing fourth in the 55m hurdles with a season-best time (9.31) at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 14. Nunes placed sixth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.65 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 24. She placed eighth in the 200m with a season-best time of 31.10 and second in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.59 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 17. Nunes placed 24th in the 60m hurdles with a season-best time of 10.64 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. She placed third in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.49 at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 6.

Nunes placed 68th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.74 at the B.U. Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9. She placed 13th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.67 at the URI Mega Meet on Feb. 2. Nunes placed 28th in the 55m with a time of 8.61 and ninth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.49 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 26. She placed third in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.80 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 19. Nunes placed 22nd in the 60m hurdles with a school-record time of 10.51 at the Yale Invitational on Jan. 12. She placed 63rd in the 200m with a season-best time of 31.25 and 19th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.58 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 8. Nunes placed 120th in the 200m with a time of 31.56 and 37th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.90 at the Husky Winter Carnival on Dec. 1.

 

She is an early childhood education major with a concentration in English and a 2007 graduate of Lincoln High School.

 

Junior Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) placed 49th in the mile (6:14.16) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11.

 

 Sophomore Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) was named the Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Year. She earned All-ECAC honors in the triple jump, placing eighth (11.28m) with a new program record effort at the ECAC Championships on March 5. She also helped the 4x400m relay team establish a new RIC mark (4:06.27). Mangum finished 17th in the triple jump (10.86m) at the NEICAAA Championship Meet on Feb. 26. She placed 16th in the long jump (4.88m) and 18th in the triple jump (10.20m) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. Mangum earned a pair of N.E. Alliance honors by winning the triple jump (10.68m) and taking third with a season-best performance in the long jump (5.15m) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She also finished 15th with a season-best performance in the high jump (1.43m). She finished 10th in the triple jump (10.73m) and 21st in the long jump (4.73m) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. Mangum placed second in the high jump (1.42m) and third in the triple jump (10.02m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15.

 

Freshman Rachel Frazier (Westerly, RI) placed 12th in the 400m (1:05.07) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She placed 49th with a season-best performance in the 400m (1:04.13) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. Frazier finished 15th in the 400m (1:06.54) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. She finished fifth in the 55m (8.51) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. Frazier placed sixth in the 55m (8.46) and finished 12th in the 200m (30.11) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. Frazierís preliminary time of 8.32 in the preliminaries of the 55m w, along with her 200m time, were season-best performances. She placed 49th in the 400m (1:05.19) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Frazier placed 11th in the 400m (1:05.80) and 13th in the 200m (30.46) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

             Freshman Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) helped the 4x400m relay team establish a new RIC mark (4:06.27) at the ECAC Championships on March 5. She tied for 16th in the pole vault (2.90m) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. Graham earned N.E. Alliance honors by placing fourth in the pole vault (2.76m), eighth with a season-best performance in the 800m (2:29.12) and third as part of the 4x800m relay (10:29.24), a new program record, at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She also finished 13th with a season-best performance in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles (9.65) at the same meet. She placed 11th in the pole vault (2.90m) and 42nd in the 800m (2:29.14) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29.  Graham finished second in the pole vault (3.05m), which equaled her program record, seventh in the 55m hurdles (9.73) and 10th in the 800m (2:34.18) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. She won the pole vault (2.9m) and finished fourth in the 55m hurdles (9.77) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. Graham placed third in the pole vault (2.61m) and 10th in the preliminaries for the 55m hurdles (9.71) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. She placed sixth in the pole vault (3.05m) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Graham placed fifth in the pole vault (2.59m) and eighth in the 55m hurdles (9.85) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4. Graham was named Little East Conference Rookie Field Athlete of the Week twice on the season.

 

Freshman Jeanette Leo (Providence, RI) placed 15th with a season-best performance in the weight throw (11.13m) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She finished 38th in the weight throw (10.31m) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. Leo placed 12th in the weight throw (10.52m) and 23rd in the shot (6.75m) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. She placed third in the weight throw (10.88m) and sixth with a season-best performance in the shot (7.62m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. Leo placed seventh in the weight throw (10.67m) and 12th in the shot (7.39m) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. Leo placed seventh in the weight throw (10.23m) and 11th in the shot (7.53m) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

Freshman Chelsea Marshall (New Bedford, MA) earned N.E. Alliance honors as part of the 4x800m relay (10:29.24), which placed third with a new program record, and placed 16th in the 1,000m (3:26.41) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She finished 26th with a season-best performance in the 1,000m (3:19.35) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. Marshall placed ninth in the 1,000m (3:27.25) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. She finished third in both the mile (5:59.60) and the 1,000m (3:31.36) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. Marshall finished sixth with a season-best performance in the 3,000m (12:03.44) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. She placed 32nd with a season-best performance in the 800m (2:36.88) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Marshall placed third with a season-best performance in the mile (5:49.59) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

Freshman Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors for her eighth place finish in the long jump (4.87m), a season-best effort, at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She finished 25th in the long jump (4.57m) at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 29. Miller placed ninth in the long jump (4.42m) and 18th in the preliminaries of the 55m (8.39) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 22. She finished second with a season-best performance in the 55m (8.21) and placed fifth in the long jump (4.49m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 15. Miller placed third in the long jump (4.08m) and fourth in the 55m (8.26) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. Her time of 8.09 in the preliminaries of the 55m was a season-high. She placed 23rd in the long jump (4.66m) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Miller placed fifth in the long jump (4.63m), 11th in the 200m (30.10) and 15th in the preliminaries of the 55m (8.23) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.

 

Freshman Katie Palumbo (Greenville, RI) helped the 4x400m relay team establish a new RIC mark (4:06.27) at the ECAC Championships on March 5. Palumbo placed 16th with a season-best performance in the 600m (1:42.60) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. She earned N.E. Alliance honors for her seventh place finish in the 600m (1:42.65) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. Palumbo finished fourth with a season-best performance in the preliminaries of the 55m (7.88) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 8. She placed 35th with a season-best performance in the 400m (1:03.68) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 11. Palumbo placed second in the 600m (1:44.38) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 4.
