O’Connor Paces RIC Harriers at Season-Opening Meet
Anchorwomen Finish 24th Overall at UMass Dartmouth

North Dartmouth, Mass.-Freshman Alyssa O’Connor (Portsmouth, RI) placed 51st (258 competitors) with a time of 20:01.26 to lead the Rhode Island College women’s cross country team to a 24th place (37 teams) finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational to open the 2011 season.

 

The Anchorwomen totaled a score of 623, while MIT won the meet with a score of 25.

 

 

 

Sophomore Jacqueline Hurteau (North Kingstown, RI) placed 61st with a time of 20:11.91. The next closest Anchorwomen runner was sophomore Chelsea Marshall (New Bedford, MA) who placed 147th with a time of 21:17.69.

 

Senior Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) finished 194th with a time of 22:28.52, while freshman Kayla Cataldo (Ronkonkoma, NY) placed 204th with a time of 22:52.88.

 

Junior Allyson Bejma (Pawtucket, RI) placed 221st with a time of 23:48.80. Junior Cameron Osteen (Steamboat Springs, CO) rounded out the RIC contingent by placing 228th with a time of 24:14.93.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will head to Chicopee, Mass. for the Elms College Invitational on Saturday, September 24 at 11 a.m.
