THIRD AT ELMS INVITATIONAL
Leigh Ties For Fourth With 77

Granby, Mass.--Sophomore Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) led all Rhode Island College golfers with a fourth place score of 77, helping guide the Anchormen to a third place finish at the Elms College Invitational played at Westover Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Only Elms and Westfield State were ahead of RIC in the final standings, finishing with scores of 310 and 314 respectively. The Anchormen posted a team score of 316, their second-best effort of the campaign. Sophomore Henry Fall (Harpswell, ME) of Elms was the medalist, shooting an overall score of 74. There were 17 teams at the tourney.

Junior Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) posted solid numbers, finishing in a tie for eighth overall with a score of 78. Freshman Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) was the next highest Anchormen in the standings, as his score of 80 was tied for 10th overall.

Freshman Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) tallied a score of 81, which was tied for 20th overall. Junior Kyle Garcia (Rehoboth, MA) rounded out the RIC contingent with a score of 82, which was tied for 24th overall.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College take part in the Anna Maria Invitational on Monday, Oct. 3.
