RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE PLACES SEVENTH
AT POP CROWELL INVITATIONAL
McCloskey Finishes Fourth at RICís Third Competition

Wenham, Mass.-Junior Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) finished fourth overall among a field of 224 runners to lead Rhode Island College to a seventh place  (22 teams) finish at the Pop Crowell Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

He finished with a time of 26:57 to lead the Anchormen. RIC totaled a score of  169.0, while Southern Maine took home the title with a score of 72.

 

 

 Junior Conor McCloskey

 

Freshman Ian LaPlume (Hope Valley, RI) placed 29th with a time of 28:23. Junior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) finished 34th with a time of 28:28.

 

Sophomore Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI) placed 54th with a time of 29:21. Junior Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) followed in 63rd place with a time of 29:44.

 

Freshman Marcus Sandoval (Portsmouth, RI) placed 73rd with a time of 29:55, while sophomore Tom DeCristofaro (Smithfield, RI) wrapped up the RIC contingent with a 75th-place finish (30:35).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Westfield State Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8.
