FORD CAPTURES MEDALIST HONORS AS RIC FINISHES SECOND AT ANNA MARIA TRI-MATCH

Sutton, Mass.-Freshman Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) captured the medalist honors, finishing first among a field of 15 golfers with a score of 77, as Rhode Island College placed second at a tri-match hosted by Anna Maria College at Blackstone National Golf Course.

 

The Amcats took first (316), RIC was second (335) and Wentworth placed third (346).

Sophomore Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) and freshman Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) each shot an 85, while junior Brian Fitzgerald (Mansfield, MA) fired an 88 and freshman Aaron Day (East Providence, RI) registered a 90 to round out the RIC contingent.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will take part in the Little East Conference/Great Northeast Athletic Conference Alliance Championships on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9.

 

The championships will be played at Gorham Country Club. The winner will receive a berth in the 2012 NCAA Div. III Menís Golf Championships, which are held in the spring.
