ANCHORMEN WIN DUAL MEET WITH WARRIORS

Willimantic, Conn.-Junior Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) took first place with a time of 24:03 to help guide Rhode Island College to a 21-34 victory over Eastern Connecticut at Mansfield Hollow State Park on Saturday.

 

Junior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed second with a time of 24:51, while freshman Ian LaPlume (Hope Valley, RI) finished third with a time of 25:07.

Senior Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI) finished in sixth place with a time of 25:20. Freshman Marcus Sandoval (Portsmouth, RI) placed ninth with a time of 25:57, while junior Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) finished 12th with a time of 26:13.

 

Sophomore Tom DeCristofaro (Smithfield, RI) finished in 13th place with a time of 26:20, while junior Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI) posted a 16th place time of 27:20. Junior Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) placed 18th with a time of 28:15. Both Carey and Mann were seeing their first action of the season after the fall baseball season wrapped up.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2011 Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 29.
