MARSHALL LEADS ANCHORWOMEN AT ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

North Dartmouth, Mass.-Sophomore Chelsea Marshall (New Bedford, MA) placed 58th overall (140 competitors) with a time of 21:05 to help lead Rhode Island College to a ninth place finish (13 teams) at the New England Alliance and Little East Conference Women’s Cross Country Championships hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.

 

The Anchorwomen totaled a score of 264.0 in the Alliance. RIC placed fifth (five teams) in the Little East with a score of 134.0. Keene State won both championships with scores of 32.0 and 24.0, respectively.

Freshman Kayla Cataldo (Ronkonkoma, NY) finished 63rd with a time of 21:15, while sophomore Jacqueline Hurteau (North Kingstown, RI) placed 68th overall with a time of 21:29.

 

Senior Brittany Richer (Wakefield, RI) placed 79th overall with a time of 21:59, while junior Allyson Bejma (Pawtucket, RI) finished 100th overall and rounded out the RIC contingent with a time of 22:52.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, hosted by Williams on Saturday, Nov. 5.
