Womenís Cross Country Season Summary

Providence, R.I.óHead Coach Kevin Jacksonís team closed out the season at the NCAA N.E. Regional Championships on Nov. 12. Prior to that, RIC competed at Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Nov. 5. The Anchorwomen did not score as a team at either competition.

 

The Anchorwomen placed ninth (13 teams) overall and fifth (five teams) in the Little East at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 29 with team scores of 264 and 134, respectively.

 

 

 

Senior Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) placed 164th with a time of 27:44.46 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 5. Richer placed 79th overall with a season-best time 21:59 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. She finished ninth at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. Richer placed 184th with a time of 23:07.69 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. She posted a 114th-place effort with a time of 22:42 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 1. Richer posted a 41st-place effort with a time of 22:56 at the Elms College Invitational on Sept. 24. She finished 194th with a time of 22:28.52 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.

 

As a junior in 2010, Richer placed fifth with a time of 21:37 at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 16. She placed 56th with a time of 20:38.58 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. She placed 47th with a time of 20:45 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 2. Richer placed 109th with a time of 22:59 Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 25. She placed 109th with a season-best time of 20:28 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.

 

As a sophomore in 2009, Richer placed 109th with a time of 24:37.10 at the N.E. Championships on Nov. 14. She placed 42nd with a time of 25:34.00 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 7. Richer placed 21st with a time of 20:57.00 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 31. She was RICís top runner, placing first with a time of 21:19.00, at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 17. Richer placed 28th with a time of 20:49.70 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 10. She placed 33rd with a season-best time of 20:38.00 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 3. Richer placed 87th with a time of 21:18.80 at the Cod Fish Bowl on Sept. 26. She placed 143rd with a time of 21:05.00 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 19.

 

As a freshman in 2008, Richer placed 17th with a time of 21:33.94 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. She placed 14th with a time of 21:46.13 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. Richer placed third with a time of 21:38.10 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. She placed 145th with a season-best time of 21:01 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

She is a secondary education major with a concentration in English and a 2008 graduate of Woonsocket High School.

 

Junior Allyson Bejma (Pawtucket, RI) placed 228th with a time of 29:52.55 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 5. She finished 100th with a time of 22:52 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. Bejma finished 13th at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. She placed 163rd with a season-best time of 22:32.50 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. Bejma placed 118th with a time of 22:51 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 1. She placed 221st with a time of 23:48.80 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.

 

Junior Cameron Osteen (Colorado Springs, CO) placed 237th with a time of 24:16.57 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. She placed 57th with a season-best time of 24:07 at the Elms College Invitational on Sept. 24. Osteen placed 228th with a time of 24:14.93 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.

 

Sophomore Jacqueline Hurteau (North Kingstown, RI) placed 68th overall with a time of 21:29 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. She placed third at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. Hurteau placed 77th with a time of 21:00.99 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. She placed 14th with a season-best time of 20:05 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 1. Hurteau placed 12th with a time of 20:46 at the Elms College Invitational on Sept. 24. She placed 61st with a time of 20:11.91 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.

 

Sophomore Chelsea Marshall (New Bedford, MA) was named the teamís MVP. She placed 130th with a time of 26:53.93 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 5. She placed 58th overall with a season-best time of 21:05 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. Marshall placed sixth in a dual-meet with Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. She finished 88th with a time of 21:17.16 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. Marshall finished 64th with a time of 21:18 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 1. She finished 26th with a time of 21:55 at the Elms College Invitational on Sept. 24. Marshall placed 147th with a time of 21:17.69 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.

 

Freshman Kayla Cataldo (Ronkonkoma, NY) placed 106th with a time of 26:25.40 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 5. She finished 63rd with a season-best time of 21:15 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. Cataldo placed seventh at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. She placed 110th with a time of 21:34.42 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. Cataldo placed 124th with a time of 23:07 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 1. She placed 36th with a time of 22:38 at the Elms College Invitational on Sept. 24. Cataldo placed 204th with a time of 22:52.88 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.
