FORBES BREAKS 400M HURDLES RECORD
AS MENíS TRACK COMPETES AT NORTHEASTERNíS HUSKY INVITATIONAL

Dedham, Mass.-Freshman Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) broke the program record in the 400m hurdles with a first place finish (53.97) as the Rhode Island College menís outdoor track and field team competed at the Bernard Solomon Husky Invitational, hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

 

 Freshman Jarell Forbes

 

Junior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed first in the 800m (1:56.52), while classmate Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) took home second in the 1,500m (3:59.16).

 

Sophomore Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed fourth in the 400m (49.63) and second in the triple jump (14.42.). Sophomore Blest Norris (Grosse Pointe, MI) finished second in the 100m (11.19).

 

Stadnick, Amado, Forbes and junior Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) combined to finish first in the 4x400m (3:20.88).

 

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday, April 21 (10 a.m.).
