Menís Tennis Season Summary
(1-14 Overall; 0-6 Little East Conference)

 

Providence, RIóHead Coach Lorne Teeterís (Career record: 17-29, .370) team finished the 2011-12 season with a 1-14 overall record and a 0-6 (seventh place) mark in the Little East Conference. The Anchormen received the Little East Conference Team Sportsmanship Award

 

 

 

Senior Jason Morin (East Providence, RI) closed out his career at RIC with a 4-20 (.167) singles record and a 4-21 (.160) doubles record for 6.0 points.

 

As a senior in 2012, Morin went 3-12 (.200) in singles, picking up a pair of wins at No. 2 singles and one win at No. 4 singles. He also went 2-13 (.133) at No. 2 doubles for a total of 4.0 points. He finished the season tied for second on the squad in singles victories.

 

As a junior in 2011, Morin was 1-6 (.143) in singles and 1-7 (.125) in doubles for 1.5 points on the season.

 

As a sophomore in 2010, Morin was a reserve on the team.

 

As a freshman in 2009, Morin was 0-2 (.000) in singles and 1-1 (.500) in doubles for a total of 0.5 points.

 

Morin is a computer information systems major and a 2008 graduate of East Providence High School.

 

Junior Ted James (West Greenwich, RI) went 0-7 (.000) in singles and 1-6 (.143) in doubles for 0.5 points.

 

Sophomore Matt Collins (Rumford, RI) finished the season with a 3-8 (.272) singles record and a 3-9 (.250) doubles record for 4.5 points. He finished tied for second in singles victories, while finishing tied for third in doubles wins. Two of his three doubles victories came at No. 1 doubles.

 

Sophomore Alex Werchadlo (Woonsocket, RI) was the named the teamís MVP. He finished the season as the team leader in both singles and doubles victories. He went 6-7 (.462) at No. 1 singles, which included a 4-2 mark against Little East competition. He also finished with a 5-8 (.385) record at No. 1 doubles for a total of 8.5 points.

 

Freshman Anthony DeFrancesco (Branford, CT) went 1-14 (.067) in singles and 4-11 (.271) in doubles for 3.0 points. He finished second on the team in doubles victories.

 

Freshman Ariel Pezoa-Sir (West Warwick, RI) went 2-10 (.167) in singles and 2-7 (.222) in doubles for 3.0 points.

 

Freshman Sean Raudonaitis (Westport, MA) went 1-11 (.083) in singles and 3-8 (.273) in doubles for 2.5 points. He finished the season tied for third on the team in doubles victories.
