CRAIG AMADO & DARIA BRABOY TO COMPETE AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Providence, R.I.-Sophomore Craig Amado (Providence, RI) and freshman Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) will compete at the 2012 NCAA Div. III Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) on May 24-25.

 

Amado will compete in the triple jump. This spring, he earned All-ECAC honors in the triple jump, with a third place effort (14.54m). Amado earned All-New England honors in two events, placing first in the triple jump (14.43m) and seventh in the 400m (49.69). He earned four N.E. Alliance honors, placing first in the triple jump (13.97m), fourth in the 400m (48.95) and seventh in the long jump (6.37m). Amado was also a member of the 4x400m relay squad that earned N.E. Alliance honors with a first place finish and a time of 3:19.21

 

This is Amado's third trip to the NCAAs. He competed in the 400m during the 2010-11 indoor season and in the triple jump this past winter.

 

Braboy will compete in the 400m. This season, she earned All-ECAC honors in the 400m with a second place finish (56.32). Braboy was the New England champion in the 400m, placing first with a new program-record time of 56.45 and also placed seventh in the triple jump (10.76) to attain All-N.E. status in both events. She picked up four N.E. Alliance honors, placing first in the 400m (57.69), third in the 200m (25.93), fourth in the triple jump (10.73m) and sixth in the 800m (2:24.35).
