POSTS CAREER HIGHS ON TWO EVENTS AS ANCHORWOMEN CELEBRATE SENIOR DAY

Sarah Chrane (Rochester, NH) registered career-high scores on
both floor and beam as the Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics
team posted their best score since 2009 in a 189.150-172.150 loss to
the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon at The Murray
Center. |

Chrane notched a career-high score of
9.500 for a fourth-place finish on floor to lead all Anchorwomen,
while registering a career-high score of 9.100 for a sixth-place
finish on beam, which was also the best effort of the day for RIC
(0-2). |
|
|
|
Chrane, along with fellow senior
captains Kate Bachelder (Portsmouth, NH) and Angela
Gargano (Byram, NJ), were recognized along with their families
prior to the start of the meet as part of Senior Day 2012. |

Sophomore Lissette La Fex (Diamond
Bar, CA) led Bridgeport (1-0), as she finished in the top two on
all three of the events she competed on. La Fex finished first on
both bars (9.800) and beam (9.800), while finishing second on floor
(9.700). Freshman Caitlin Perry (North Kingstown, RI)
finished first on floor (9.800), while also posting a second-place
finish on vault (9.775). Sophomore Zahara Stamps (Phoenix, AZ)
took first on vault (9.800) for the Purple Knights.

Freshman Cory Bridges (Foxboro,
MA) led the Anchorwomen on two events, finishing fourth on bars
(8.650), sixth on vault (9.275), while also finishing seventh on
floor (9.025). She led RIC with a score of 34.900 in the all-around,
while Bachelder finished with a score of 34.075 in the all-around.
Bachelder’s day was highlighted by an eighth-place finish on both
floor (8.900) and beam (8.675), and rounded out her day with a
ninth-place finish on vault (8.750). |

Freshman Sasha Tsikhanovich
(Marysville, OH) led Bridgeport in the all-around, as she
finished with a score of 37.675. She took second on beam (9.650),
second on bars (9.550), fifth on vault (9.625) and ninth on floor
(8.850). Freshman Alex Oringer (Levittown, NY) had a strong
showing for the Purple Knights too, as she finished third on both
floor (9.675) and vault (9.700). |

Freshman Mary Ocel (North
Attleboro, MA) was impressive for the Anchorwomen on vault, as
she placed eighth overall with a score of 9.150. Sophomore
Caitlin Elliot (Marlton, NJ) finished ninth on vault with a
score of 9.050. Freshman Jessica Mushinsky (Shrewsbury, MA)
was stellar on bars for RIC as she finished seventh overall (8.000),
while sophomore Fallon Connolly (Weymouth, MA) took ninth
overall on beam (8.600). |
