RIC FALLS TO BRIDGEWATER STATE
& PLYMOUTH STATE

Bridgewater, Mass.-The Rhode Island College women's swimming team lost to Bridgewater State, 93-23, and Plymouth State, 91-28, in a tri-match hosted by the Bears  at the Mary Jo Moriarty Pool on Sunday afternoon.

 

Plymouth State, which downed BSU, 64-60, improves to 2-5 on the season. The Bears see their record stand at 4-7 with the 1-1 performance, while RIC drops to 0-2.

 

Freshman Sierra Sant'Anna (Riverside, RI) placed third in the 1,000 freestyle (12:59.00) and fourth in both the 100 (1:04.24) and 500 (6:22.62) freestyle.

 

Sophomore Sophie Kanno (Cranston, RI) placed third in both the 200 (2:17.24) and 50 (28.40) freestyle, to go along with a third place mark in the 100 butterfly (1:09.30).

 

Freshman Kristen Wilkinson (North Providence, RI) placed fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:15.13), sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:08.74) and seventh in the 50 freestyle (31.22).

 

Freshman Ramie Cormay (Walpole, MA) placed third in both the 100 breaststroke (1:25.45) and the 200 intermediate (2:45.24).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 4 (11 a.m.).
