RACHEL RILEY NAMED LITTLE EAST
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior forward Rachel Riley (Coventry, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after her performance in a 3-0 week for the Anchorwomen.

 

Riley averaged a double-double of 12.3 points and 12.3 rebounds in the club's three victories, posting a double-double in every contest.

 

 

 

Riley scored 12 points, collected 14 rebounds and recorded three blocks to help the Anchorwomen defeat conference rival Southern Maine, 74-50, on Jan. 10. Two days later, she was efficient from the floor, connecting on 6-of-9 attempts, to register 13 points and 12 boards in a 57-48 victory over Trinity. Riley completed the week with a 12-point, 11-rebound effort as the Anchorwomen blew out Little East foe Keene State, 77-46, on Jan. 14.

 

For the season, she has played in 14 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 13.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.

 

Head Coach Marcus Reilly's team is 12-2 overall and 5-0 (first place) in the Little East Conference.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at home against UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Jan. 17 (5:30 p.m.).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 4 (11 a.m.).
