ANCHORWOMEN PLACE FOURTH AT
YALE'S PINK ZONE QUAD MEET

New Haven, Conn.The Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team posted a team score of 170.700 in a fourth place finish at Yale University's Pink Zone Quad Meet on Saturday afternoon at Payne Whitney Gymnasium.

 

It was the team's second-highest team score of the season. Bridgeport won the meet with a score of 193.075, while the hosts finished second with a score of 190.400. ECAC rival Springfield placed third at 185.625.

 

Senior Kate Bachelder (Portsmouth, NH) finished sixth in the all-around with a combined score of 34.375. She posted results of 8.700 on vault, 8.275 on bars, 8.450 on beam and 8.950 on floor. Her score on floor was the second highest on the team.

 

Freshman Mary Ocel (North Attleboro, MA) placed sixth in the all-around (31.975) with scores of 9.075, 8.300, 7.000 and 7.600. She led the team on vault.

 

Senior Sarah Chrane (Rochester, NH) led the team on beam and floor with scores of 9.000 and 9.150, respectively.

 

Freshman Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) led the squad on bars with a score of 9.050.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Ithaca College Invitational on Saturday, February 18 (1 p.m.).
