ELLIOTT RECEIVES ECAC WEEKLY
GYMNASTICS COACHES AWARD

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College sophomore Caitlin Elliott (Marlton, NJ) received the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Weekly Women’s Gymnastics Coaches Award for her performance at a quad-meet hosted by West Chester on Feb. 24.

 

Elliott posted her highest career beam score with a 9.000 and her second-highest vault score with a 9.15. She also posted an 8.650 on floor.

 

 

 

The Anchorwomen (2-10, 2-6 ECAC) earned their best score since Feb. 22, 2009, as they finished with a team total of 173.975. RIC topped Wilson (161.525), an ECAC opponent, for its second win of the season, but fell to Ursinus (187.200) in ECAC Div. III action as well. West Chester, a Div. II program, finished with a score of 189.150 to win the meet.

 

For the season, Elliott is averaging scores of 8.800 on vault, 8.139 on beam and 8.589 on floor.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen hit the road to take part in The College at Brockport Invitational on Sunday, March 4 at 1 p.m.
