AMADO LEADS THE WAY AS MENíS INDOOR TRACK WRAPS UP COMPETITION AT
ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

New York-N.Y.-Rhode Island College sophomore Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed 10th in the triple jump (13.93m) as the Anchormen competed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III Championships held at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center on Friday and Saturday, March 2-3.

 

As a team, RIC finished in a tie for 56th (62 teams) with a team score of 3.0. Bates won the meet with a score of 69.0.

 

Amado posted a solid outing that also featured a 17th place finish in the 400m (51.14). He will find out later this evening if he has qualified to compete at the NCAA Div. III Championships.

He was also part of the 4x400m relay team, along with freshman Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI), freshman Aleno Gomes (Providence, RI) and junior Blest Norris (Grosse Pointe, MI), which placed seventh with a time of 3:23.08.  

 

Norris also placed 20th in the preliminaries of the 60m with a time of 7.10.

 

RICís 4x800m relay squad, comprised of juniors Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI), Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI), Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) and Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI), finished eighth with a time of 7.54.35.

 

Stadnick also finished 11th in the 800m (1:55.49), while McCloskey took 12th in the mile (4:18.90).
