ANCHORWOMEN TAKE DOWN WILSON FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK WITH 171.475 SCORE
RIC Splits at Brockport Invitational

Brockport, N.Y.-Rhode Island College defeated Wilson, 171.475-135.100, at the Brockport Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was the third consecutive week the Anchorwomen have downed the Phoenix. Brockport defeated both clubs with a score of 190.800.

 

RIC (3-11, 3-7 ECAC) posted its fourth-highest score of the season.

 

 

 Senior Kate Bachelder

 

Senior Kate Bachelder (Portsmouth, NH) finished third in the all-around with scores of 8.825 on vault, 7.425 on bars, 8.975 on beam and 8.950 on floor for a combined total of 34.175. She was seventh overall on beam and eighth on floor.

 

 

 Freshman Cory Bridges

 

Freshman Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) led the team on vault (9.175) and bars (8.700), which was good for seventh overall on both events.

 

Freshman Jessica Mushinsky (Shrewsbury, MA) finished ninth on bars (8.375), while junior Melanie Goes (East Providence, RI) also earned a ninth place effort on vault (8.800).

 

Sophomore Fallon Connolly (Weymouth, MA) placed ninth on beam (8.600). Classmate Caitlin Elliott (Marlton, NJ) was seventh on floor (9.150).

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will compete at the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III Women's Gymnastics Championships, hosted by Ithaca College on March 10.
