NORRIS WINS TWO EVENTS AS RIC
MEN'S TRACK OPENS OUTDOOR SEASON
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-Sophomore Blest Norris (Grosse Pointe, MI) placed first in both the 100m (11.12) and the 200m (22.96) as the Rhode Island College men's outdoor track and field team placed fourth (nine teams) with a score of 68.0 at the Coast Guard Bear Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Coast Guard won the meet with a score of 218.0.

Junior Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) also took home an event title, winning the 5,000m (15:27.13). Classmate Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed third in the 1,500m (4:09.10).

 

Sophomore Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed second in the long jump (6.38m) and seventh in the 800m (2:01.50). Freshman Norman Diamante (Glocester, RI) placed fourth in the high jump (1.71m).

 

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, April 7 (10 a.m.).
