BRABOY WINS LONG JUMP AS RIC
WOMEN'S TRACK OPENS OUTDOOR SEASON
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-Freshman Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) placed first in the long jump (4.88m) and fourth in the 800m (2:24.74) as the Rhode Island College women's outdoor track and field team placed fifth (11 teams) with a score of 64.0 at the Coast Guard Bear Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Westfield State won the meet with a score of 135.50.

Sophomore Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) placed third in the 400m (1:02.84), while freshman Kayla Cataldo (Ronkonkoma, NY) finished third in the 400m hurdles (1:10.57).

 

Freshman Kadijah Johnson (Central Falls, RI) placed third in the hammer (37.08), while classmate Samantha Plante (Woonsocket, RI) took home fourth in the triple jump (9.71m),

 

The squad's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams each took home first place honors, registering times of 52.28 and 4:17.30, respectively. 

 

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, April 7 (10 a.m.).
