TUFTS & WELLESLEY BLANK ANCHORWOMEN
AT BRANDEIS INVITATIONAL

Waltham, Mass.Rhode Island College suffered two shutout losses to Tufts and Wellesley, respectively, at the first day of the Brandeis Women's Volleyball Invitational on Friday evening.

 

The Jumbos (2-0) won, 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-16), over RIC (0-6) in the first match. Senior outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) and junior outside hitter Amanda Cabral (Riverside, RI) each had four kills. Cabral added five digs and two blocks. Senior setter Jessica Ho (Providence, RI) contributed 15 assists, while freshman outside hitter Lauren Palazzini (Woonsocket, RI) notched three winners and a team-high seven digs.

The Blue (4-0) also blanked the Anchorwomen (25-12, 25-20, 25-12). Boyer and Cabral had seven and five kills, respectively. Freshman libero Jasmyn Starr (Gilford, NH) handed out 11 assists.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will face McDaniel (noon) and the hosts (4 p.m.) in the final day of the invitational tomorrow afternoon.
