RIC WRAPS UP 3-1 WEEK WITH SPLIT
AT CLARK TRI-MATCH

Worcester, Mass.-Senior outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) posted 36 kills and 13 digs as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team split a tri-match with Clark and Westfield State on Saturday afternoon.

 

Boyer posted 25 kills, six digs and three blocks as the Anchorwomen (6-11) came from behind to defeat Clark (5-8) in five sets (25-22, 26-28, 17-25, 25-21, 15-11).

 

Freshmen right side hitter Lauren Palazzini (Woonsocket, RI) contributed 14 kills, while classmate middle hitter Adriana Ambari (Beacon Falls, CT) registered 10 winners. Senior setter Jessica Ho (Providence, RI) handed out 50 assists.

 

After winning the first set, RIC lost to Westfield State, 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 21-25, 24-26). The Owls (3-11) were swept by the Anchorwomen in a tri-match on Sept. 15 at The Murray Center. Boyer and Ambari led the way offensively with 11 and eight kills, respectively, while freshman libero Jasmyn Starr (Gilford, NH) posted 22 digs.

 

Ambari and Palazzini each finished the day with 18 kills. Ho set up 85 winners. Junior outside hitter Amanda Cabral (Riverside, RI) pitched in with 16 kills, nine digs and six blocks.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference play at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 2 (7 p.m.).
