BOYER & MALBOEUF LEAD ANCHORWOMEN TO FIRST
LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE WIN

North Dartmouth, Mass.-Senior outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) had 19 kills, while freshman outside hitter Michelle Malboeuf (Cumberland, RI) knocked down 11 winners, as Rhode Island College defeated UMass Dartmouth, 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-23) in Little East Conference women's volleyball action on Tuesday evening.

 

The Anchorwomen (7-11, 1-2 LEC) win for the fourth time in the club's last five contests. The Corsairs (14-3, 1-2 LEC) suffer their second league setback of the season.

 

Senior setter Jessica Ho (Providence, RI) picked up 45 assists. Boyer added five blocks and two digs. Junior middle hitter Amanda Cabral (Riverside, RI) contributed eight kills, five digs and three blocks.

 

 Boyer needs 57 more kills to become the all-time leader in RIC women's volleyball history.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Eastern Nazarene on Thursday, Oct. 4 (7 p.m.).
