SWINDELL'S STRIKE SINKS ANCHORMEN

Keene, N.H.-Junior forward Brian Swindell (Milford, MA) scored in the 60th minute to lead Keene State past Rhode Island College, 1-0, in Little East Conference men's soccer action on Saturday evening  at the Owl Athletic Complex.

 

The Owls (7-5-1, 3-1-1 LEC) held a 20-9 advantage in shots as junior goalkeeper Malcolm Cheney (Hopkinton, MA) made one save to earn the win.

 

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Christopher Duarte

 

The Anchormen (3-9-1, 2-3 LEC) used just one sub in the game as sophomore goalkeeper Christopher Duarte (Cumberland, RI) made eight saves.

 

Senior midfielder Kyle Leavitt (Plymouth, MA) picked up the assist on Swindell's strike.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Westfield State on Wednesday, October 17 (6 p.m.).
